Mill Shell, Heads & Trunnions — Mapping Assessment
Structured thickness mapping to identify minimum wall thickness, track areas of concern and support maintenance and insurance decisions.
MAPPING ASSESSMENT
- Our team performs mill shell, head, and trunnion mapping with thickness measurements. This program will satisfy insurance requirements plus providing the maintenance team with valuable information on the integrity of the mill components.
- The Mill Shell Mapping Program utilizes our technology to find the minimum thickness in each area.
- The shell, heads and trunnions are gridded into rows and columns using the liner bolts as a guide. 100% of the grids are scanned, and the minimum thickness recorded.
- If there is an area with excessive wall loss, this area will be mapped and marked out on the mill shell as well as in the report.
- The information is charted so problem areas can be easily identified and tracked over time.
- The final electronic report provides a summary of the inspection, insight on the condition, and recommendations for the maintenance team and insurance industry on the level of exposure being presented by the mill, shell, head, and trunnions.
